Moroccan culture is one of the most exotic in the world and has been utilized by designers for centuries. Villa Maroc is the first resort to bring this luxurious décor to the coast of Thailand, offering a truly unique experience. The marriage of Thailand’s balmy weather and idyllic beaches with the luxury of the Maghreb has enabled us to pick the best elements from each culture to create a truly stunning resort.

The resort is designed to ensure that the accommodation is of the highest standard, including direct access to the enticing beaches of the Gulf of Thailand. Each unique room has its own, beautiful sea view.

Pranburi, the area in which the resort is situated, has evaded the massive building sprees that have seen some other parts of the country damaged through over-development. Villa Maroc is the first luxury resort in the area, and guests can take in the natural landscape and habitat that is still very much present in the resort’s surroundings.

The resort is equipped with all the facilities to ensure that your stay is a pleasant one, including the fitness room to keep in shape, a relaxing library shelved with nourishing words for healthy mind, fantastic dining options and our sensuous spa and very luxurious hammam in which to wind down, You may never want to leave.

Far enough from the bustling resort town of Hua Hin to make it seem remote yet close enough to all major infrastructure to ensure that getting here is a breeze, Villa Maroc sits on a 153-metre stretch of coastline on Pranburi Beach. The buildings have all been created in the dramatic Moroccan style with dazzling colours and attention to detail.

Room Overview

,Villa Maroc Pranburi

The Resort consists of 6 Pool Courts, 4 Pool Villas, 1 One Bedroom Villa, 2 Two Bedroom Villas and 2 Royal Villas, All of which have been crafted in dramatic moroccan style with dazzling colours and attention to details.

Pool Court (4 pictures) Villa Maroc Pranburi

Inspired by traditional Moroccan mansions known as riads, the two-storey Pool Courts are built around an open courtyard, filling them with natural light and enhancing the privacy of the accommodation. Traditionally the focal point of Moroccan living, the courtyards have been lushly landscaped and decoratively designed with fine inlaid mosaic. The stunning centerpiece fountain, known as a zellige, was authentically crafted by a Moroccan artist and completes the transportation to another world.

Riad Grunful (Clove) boasts panoramic views of the sea on one side and is conveniently located near the courtyard swimming pool on the other.  The interior is traditionally Moroccan, using the soft tones and earthy hues long associated with Maghrebi design.

Riad Nana (Mint) is most central to the courtyard and overlooks the decorative fountain and gardens.  The theme is a modern Moroccan design and takes its cue from contemporary life with soothing tones and clean lines.

Riad Zinjabeel (Ginger) is the last riad to be set around the courtyard and like its name, is among the most beautiful. Riad Grunful blends traditional and contemporary Moroccan décor to create an awe-inspiring ambience of North African luxury.

The Pool Courts are uniquely designed, creating a more intimate&personal escape. On the ground floor, each unit backs out onto its own patch of the courtyard whish is an idyllic location for reading in the shade during the heat of the day or for sipping tea as the sun goes down, while the upper floors boast large balconies with incredible views that are perfect for daytime sun worshippers or for a nighttime private party for two under the moon-lit sky.

Villa Kurkum (Turmeric)

At one time Turmeric was one of the world’s most important trading commodities. As a favoured spice, it is widely used in Middle Eastern cuisine, but is also a very important textile dye. Villa Kurkum is a beautiful, two-storey villa situated on the beach with breathtaking views of the turquoise sea and clear blue sky -- these view are among the best in the resort. The building is specially designed with high ceiling and plenty of door and windows opening out onto the water's edge, making the most out of the breeze that naturally glides off the sea. The interior uses colourful lamp, textiles and intricately carved wooden ornamentation to create the Moroccan feeling. The spacious balcony is ideal for private sun bathing or a late afternoon massage. In the evening, under a starry sky, this is the perfect place to relax and settle in for a romantic night.

Villa Yanisoon (Aniseed)

A native to the Eastern Mediterranean and south Asia, the fragrant and sharp tasting seed of the anise plant remains an important crop across the Arab world and is often used as the base of many Middle Eastern dishes. It is said that one good health benefit from eating aniseed is relaxation. It is this healthful aspect that was focused upon when designing Villa Yanisoon. It owes its beauty and charm to the use of traditional architecture and furnishings, transforming this two- bedroom, two-storey villa into one of the most iconic in all of the resort. Situated on glorious Pranburi beach, but in keeping with the colour scheme for which Moroccan cities are famed, this villa is painted pink and marries the best of Morocco with all the glory of the Thai coastline.

Royal Villas 1 Villa Maroc Pranburi

Villa Za’atar (Thyme)

Used by the ancient Egyptians for embalming, the ancient Greeks for incense, the Romans to ward of nightmares and in the Middle Ages to bring courage, thyme has a long history in most Mediterranean and Asian cultures. Accommodating up to four people in its flexible living space, Villa Za’atar is one of the biggest in the resort. The bedroom is situated on the second floor with a generous bathroom area that offers a large Jacuzzi and magnificent sea views. One of the villa’s most alluring features is the roof terrace which is furnished in Morocco’s grandest style and set against the warm exterior colour of the spice itself. Antiques are important here, and the interior is punctuated with unique pieces from Morocco’s rich past.

Villa Za'Faran (Saffron)

The world’s most expensive spice by weight and traditionally considered one of the most exotic, saffron has a rich history when it comes to the spice trade. Indeed, it is the connotations of wealth and excess that are associated with saffron that are represented in the design of this splendid and spacious villa, including the dramatic in-villa swing which hangs from the ceiling and helps promote a healing, relaxing mood. Accommodating up to five people with a flexible living design, this is a great place to spend lazy days meditating, reading and admiring the scenery. The second floor houses the main bedroom from which there is a sun-splashed terrace with an open-air Jacuzzi and a bathroom that makes the most of the natural light and commanding sea views. The third floor rooftop is the place to plan a private dinner under the stars. Additional living space is provided with the lower level room, perfect for children or extra guests.

Hammam and Spa (0 pictures) Villa Maroc Pranburi

Villa Maroc’s Sherazade Hammam and Spa brings the best in Arabic healing and comfort, colours and artifacts to the shores of Pranburi, combining the deliciously exotic with the absolutely luxurious.

Step into the sanctuary of the Hammam, a gentle light radiating from the central dome into both hot and cool rooms, the picturesque three spa rooms above awaiting for nourishing treatments, and you’ll be entering into another world, another culture.

Alternatively, elect to take your treatment under the beautiful Arabic cabana on Pranburi Beach, where the sounds of the ocean and the breeze will cosset you as delightfully as your therapist. Some treatments may also be taken in the comfort of your own villa.

The art of bathing
Since time immemorial people have gathered to socialize, cleanse and purify themselves. Turkish baths have long provided the perfect surroundings for a healthy steam, scrub and refreshing mint tea, often accompanied by massage and other spa treatments. Traditionally Hammam visitors return weekly, and often incorporate a visit in their wedding, birthing and holiday celebrations, as well as for the usual beauty reasons. Traditions differ from country to country, but the use of black olive soap and the rough kese (mitt) skillfully wielded by the tellaks or hammamis (masseuses) has always been central to a Hammam visit.

The therapeutic steam and scrub, called gommage, doesn’t just feel incredible, it also has numerous health benefits. Hot steam increases the temperature of the body, stimulating the immune system by increasing the production of antibodies. Joints and muscles relax, relieved of pain and stiffness, respiratory problems can be improved and the expelling of toxins via sweat makes a Hammam treatment a deeply detoxifying experience. As blood flow and metabolism increases, increasing the flow of nutrients to the skin, the result is that delightful healthy glow.

Hammam – the journey
Guests begin by putting on a robe/sheet and entering the deliciously hot room. It is here that you will acclimatise to the heat, and begin to feel your muscles and mind relax. There are cold water fountains set around the room so that you can refresh yourself from time to time. The warm room comes next, and is where the hammami will wash you with black soap, and scrub your body with the kese mitt. Relax and enjoy the sensation of relinquishing control and tuning out of everyday life. While the scrub may occasionally feel quite harsh, the resulting tingling in every cell, and the feeling of having squeaky-clean skin is well worth it. Your hammami will then pour a wonderfully purifying water over you, and you will shower off any excess soap or dead skin. Finally your body will be dusted with Ytsara’s fragrant Rose Water Spray, wrapped in a soft robe and allowed to relax with a warm mint tea.

The Hammam experience is the ideal preparation for the optimum absorption of ingredients, whether stimulating ginger, energising pepper, detoxifying turmeric, soothing aloe vera or calming lemongrass. The scents of the ingredients transport you spiritually to another world, while working on the mind, leaving you to step back to reality enchantingly fragrant – and fragrantly enchanted.

Note
One Hammam and gommage experience a week is ideal, so we advise guests to try alternative treatments during the following days of each week’s stay. Guests with high blood pressure, or those who are pregnant, are advised not to experience the heat of the Hammam.
