The Racha is Thailand's premier deluxe island hideaway. A place where you can balance body, mind and spirit in an environmentally friendly space. It is set on a pristine beach on Racha Island only 19 km (12 miles) south of Phuket. The resort features 70 luxurious villas and aims to be a leader in responsible and environmentally sustainable tourism. The island is known for its natural beauty and is since long known for its excellent corals and marine life.
The Racha aims to be at the fore-front of ecologically & environmentally responsible architecture and development.The Racha has been designed to blend in with the existing terrain of the land and care has been taken to ensure the 69 luxurious single storey villas and annex buildings do not stick out like sore thumbs ruining the natural profiles of the land. No cutting and filling of the land was allowed.
Each and every building has been carefully set up and located on site by the architect and owners. Many of our villas have trees coming through the terraces and back yards.
All villas have double thick exterior walls to reduce load on air conditioning. Use condensate water from the air conditioning system to fill the foot bath outside each villa for washing of feet. There are no fabric curtains in the entire resort to cut down on laundry. Recover heat from Generators for laundry. Energy saving lighting design – use of rope lights & low power energy saving lamps. Sewage treatment system. Use ozone instead of Chlorine in all pools.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Guests arriving later than 15.30 hrs. at Phuket International Airport cannot be transferred to The Racha on the same evening, as we do not operate the boat at night time. The Racha will assist in making alternative arrangements for overnight stays in Phuket in case of late arriving flights or delays, but will not financially responsible.
Please also notice that the sea conditions during the boat transfer can be unpredicatable and guests are encouraged to wear appropriate and light attire.
The Racha will not operate its boats if there is the slightest safety concern or in case of strong winds or uncertain sea condtions. Every effort will be made by our land based staff in Phuket to assist in making alternative arrangements for the guests until the situation is considered safe. In such an event, The Racha will not be financially responsible for delays or for guest relocations caused by adverse sea conditions.
